Welcome to East LA Performing Arts Magnet's School Site Council Page!

We are not only a school; we are a community.  The Governing School Council seeks advice and input from the English Learners Advisory Council and the Parent-Teacher-Student Association, and each will post their announcements and minutes on the following pages. The councils are

 

  • ELAC - (English Learner Advisory Committee) - responsible for overseeing all issues relating to students classified as English Learners
  • GSC - (Governing School Council - constitutes the School Site Council for state and district accountability) - Responsible for creating and reviewing actions related to the SPSA (Single Plan for Student Achievement), reviewing and approving categorical budgets and programs. 
  • Parent-Teacher-Student Association - raises funds for programs that enrich students' experience in high school, such as performance festivals, trips and student recognition supplies and events, provides opportunities for parent involvement, supplements school site budgets and programs, coordinates volunteers for school events, performances and field trips.

Each council will consist of a combination of teachers, principal, parent/community members, and students.  Meeting dates are monthly, on the second Wednesday, or immediately prior to an evening performance of a school production, in order to foster maximum parent participation, unless otherwise approved by each committee.
