Vision & Mission

To establish a model performing arts academy in East Los Angeles for all students interested in the arts, who will achieve at high levels in the classroom, performance, and prepare students for success in college and professions.

The mission of the East Los Angeles Performing Arts Academy is to develop creative, contributing members of society through a standards-based curriculum featuring rigorous interdisciplinary instruction that is rich in the performing arts, and by working with community and media & entertainment industry leaders to give our students the experience necessary to achieve our vision.




Why Choose a Magnet ! On the English language arts portion of the test, 55% of LAUSD magnet students met or exceeded the state’s new learning standards, compared with 39% of students in local charters, the district report showed. Winter 2016 Activities - Arts Camp to Eastside Arts Festival

East LA Performing Arts Magnet students have been INSANELY busy this winter, with Arts Camp workshops in January, a visit from Tony Bennett, Career Day, the 5th Annual Eastside Arts Festival, a tv feature  on Univision and more.  Check out the slide show below!

East LA Performing Arts Magnet at the Esteban E. Torres High School campus.
Torres High School is a campus shared by 5 independent schools. Each school has its own website, API score, bell schedule, theme and academic program.  Students from all 5 schools participate in Athletics, Cheer, Dance Team, and Prom together.
